Swap the Stock Grip for a 12° Palm Swell
The factory grip on the T86 is 7° of back-sweep situs togel terpercaya. That’s fine for a range toy, but after 200 rounds your hand cramps. Order a Hogue OverMolded grip in 12°—part #86-OM-12. It drops your wrist angle 5° and moves the web of your hand 3 mm higher on the tang. Result: less ulnar deviation, faster follow-up shots. Torque the screw to 25 in-lbs; any tighter and the rubber won’t seat properly.
Adjust the Comb Height in 2 mm Increments
Stock comb is 1.45″ from bore center. If your red dot sits 1.8″ above the rail, that’s a 0.35″ gap—too much for consistent cheek weld. Buy a set of Magpul MOE comb risers. Start with one 2 mm riser. Dry-fire ten times; if the dot doesn’t appear centered in the window, add another 2 mm. Stop when the dot is visible without lifting your head. Three risers max—any more and your nose hits the charging handle.
Shorten the Trigger Reset to 3.5 mm
Factory reset is 5 mm. That’s lazy. Remove the trigger shoe, polish the sear surfaces with 1500-grit wet paper, then stone the trigger bar with a 400-grit Arkansas stone. Reassemble, adjust the over-travel screw until the reset is 3.5 mm. Test with snap caps; if it doubles, back the screw out ¼ turn. Clean trigger pull drops from 6 lb to 4.5 lb, shaving 0.12 s off split times.
Replace the Charging Handle with a Low-Profile Latch
The OEM latch sticks out 14 mm. Under a plate carrier it snags. Install a Radian Raptor LT. It sits 8 mm proud, has a 45° angle for gloved use, and locks open with 12 lb of force—enough to stay put, not so much it slows reloads. Lube the roll pin with anti-seize; press-fit with a 3/8″ punch and a brass hammer. No gunsmith needed.
Add a 1.5 oz Tungsten Buffer Weight
Stock buffer is 3.8 oz. Under a suppressor it bounces. Swap in a Sprinco 5.3 oz tungsten buffer. Recoil impulse drops 18%, muzzle rise is noticeably flatter. Cycle time stays the same—critical for 3-gun stages. Torque the castle nut to 45 ft-lb; stake it with a center punch. If the bolt doesn’t lock back on an empty mag, add one 1 oz tungsten insert.
Index Your Mag Release for Thumb Activation
Factory button is 0.4″ from the frame. Under stress your thumb misses. Install a Strike Industries extended mag release. It protrudes 0.65″ and has a 15° angle. Dry-fire 50 reloads; if your thumb consistently hits it without breaking grip, keep it. If not, file the leading edge to a 30° chamfer. Test with gloves—if it still works, you’re done.
Set Up a Consistent Sling Mount Point
The T86 has two QD sockets: one at 10 o’clock, one at 4 o’clock. Mount a Blue Force Gear Vickers sling at 4 o’clock. It keeps the sling out of your support-hand workspace and lets the rifle hang muzzle-down when not in use. Adjust the slider so the muzzle clears your knee when seated. If you run a chest rig, route the sling under the rig—never over.
Lube Points That Actually Matter
Forget the manual. Focus on three spots: the bolt cam pin, the extractor spring, and the gas rings. Use Lucas Extreme Duty grease on the cam pin, Slip 2000 on the extractor, and Militec-1 on the gas rings. Wipe the rest with a dry patch. Run 100 rounds; if the bolt doesn’t lock back on an empty mag, add one drop of oil to the gas rings. Repeat until it does.
